JNU'S DEPRIVATION POINT SYSTEM EXPLAINED

This is what sets JNU apart from every other central university:

1. Only Part B marks from CUET PG are counted, Part A General Awareness scores are ignored completely
2. Female candidates receive additional deprivation points added to their merit score
3. Transgender applicants are also eligible for deprivation point benefits
4. Students who completed schooling in Quartile 1 backward districts receive higher extra points
5. Students from Quartile 2 backward districts also receive points but at a slightly lower rate
6. Extra points range from 2 to 12 depending on category and district classification
